Evaluation (Aaron)

  • In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forma and conventions of real media products?
The genre that I had chosen in order to create an understandable and a movie storyline that will be more realistic, my genre thus was chosen to be a drama/fantasy genre. I chose this in order to make a life easy for myself and my partner in order that both of us can make an interesting storyline in which in someway or the other we can relate to. As I had a set genre to create a storyline towards, I managed to secure the needed codes and conventions to stay on the intended genre and also to aim for a wider range audience. My having a sub – genre, I am able to connect with the fantasy lovers who want to get away or find a deeper meaning in a storyline and at the same time attract an audience who want to see a bit of drama in a film so that they can, in someway or the other, compare the life of my characters to their own.
I can compare my trailer to the codes and conventions of other trailers such as “Taken”.

The best part of my trailer is how I manage to convey the storyline in the trailer without giving away any part of the storyline. Just as they have done in "Taken", the filmakers have given the adequaate information by following a non linear form of editing. By not showing too much off information on the storyline, I am automatically following the codes and conventions of a trailer. One of the many examples of us following the typical codes and conventions is adding in a clip of our production company “Universal” but also my own production company logo was created and put in the beginning of the clip.

In comparison to other trailers, I have created mine similar to the “Taken” Trailer, this is because in “Taken” as you have seen, the clip follows a linear scene with bits of other clips of the movie added in between, my trailer is very similar to this as I have my main characters on a sofa with Lucy telling them what is going in her mind with bits of other shots in between. I hope that you as an audience follow this concept that I have taken and put it in my trailer.

Other trailer such as the “Final Destination” Trailer has included and also inspired me to create the titles in
order to fit the genre.

In my own opinion I have managed to create my titles in order to fit the genre so that the trailer can sell the story as effectively as possible. My main aim for this trailer just like many other drama trailers such as, “My Sisters Keeper”, “Twilight” and also other genres that the title represents their theme, one of my main inspirational titles was seen in the “X-Files” movie trailer. I followed this same concept in hope of achieving a more significant effect of the trailer I order to get the audience target that is needed. My Mise – en – scene shows the location that I have hosen to represent the emotions of my character, the same is seen in taken when the main character is talking on the phone, the black background represents the emotion of intensity in the audience along with the main character. As you have seen I have followed the same convention in my trailer from the very beginning as the main actor is standing on the edge of a cliff as she is sad, the cliff in the Mise – en – scene represents the emotion of suicidal feelings, this attracts the audience as the trailer starts of with a very intense and dynamic scene.

Apart from the titles, one of the many aspects that work alongside the codes and conventions of a trailer is the editing. Like many trailers such as “Transformers” I have used quick fades at key points of the trailer to give a heartbeat sensation. This creates an amount of tense feeling in my audience making them more intrigued into what the storyline is all about.

In the end of my trailer (just like in "twilight") the last shot has calm music as the pace of the trailer has to come to an end, this leaves the audience in a suspense yet exciting mood so that they are furthermore attracted towards the movie. Just like many other trailers, the editing is slow in the beginning and then it is fast and non - linear in the middle only to slow down and come back into linear editing in the end.

It is important to remember that this trailer has been created in order for you as the audience to decide if you want to see this movie in the cinema and if it is worth paying £7 in order to see it in the cinema.

• How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

To have brand recognition in all three media is essential so that the audience can recognise the movie more effectively. My main aim was to make the audiene essentially breath my movie, see my movie and speak my movie and the only way I was to achieve this level was to create a combination of brand texts. By using the same font for my main film title was the recognition it needed amongst the audience. For example, in order for my film title to stand out, the first and last letter is bigger than the rest of my titles. This allows my title to stand out from the rest of my captions in my trailer so that the know what the film is called and watch the film.

The idea to make this title came by looking at other titles such as “apocalypse now”, I wanted to create a title similar to this however I could not find the font and as the budget along with the time was against me, I had to settle with another alternative.

I looked at other texts to get a better outlook on a simple yet affective title. By doing some research with the help of the internet i realised that the title for “I Am Legend” was very similar to another idea that I had for the title, I had manage to find the font and I created the title and used this font in all three media formats.By realising that the title would be a great impact on the genre I aimed to make a simple title in order for my audience to understand clearly what kind of movie this is.

I compared my poster and magazine to films that had the same marketing campaign, in order to be sure that my magazine and my poster were working together; I made sure that they were similar in comparison to other films such as star trek as their film poster was very similar to ours.

Left: My Cover
                                            Right: Empire Magazine Cover

Left: Star Trek Poster
                                                 Right: My Poster
By looking at the two Star Trek peces, they have managed to link the two together as their main image on the magazine cover is of the movie's main characters, as the audience remember faces better then names, this method is more effective, as they will see the faces they will start thinking about the movie. And so as you can see I have done the same to achieve that level of advertising and thus attracting more and more viewers. The similarities between my magazine cover clearly follows the codes and conventions needed for a magazine cover. All magazine covers use cover lines in order to attract more audiences or readers to buy this edition as there will be interesting stories inside, my selling line is the "Oscar Night" which shows the gossip that everyone enjoys. In terms of my poster the codes and conventions are very similar towards the professianaly done "Star Trek" poster. In their poster, they have two main pictures; one picture is ofthe actors, justifying their main characters and stars. This attracts the audience as some of them may like a certain actor and be instantly attracted to the movie, however another critical code tat they have is the spaceship justifying it being a sci - fi. As you can see this is similar to my own poster in which i have attempted to show the main characters and actors, by doing so I have brought attention to this as it is bigger then the other picture which means that the first thing you see is the big piture of my actors and then on the bottom is a snipet of the actuall film so that it gives the audience a slight inlook of the movie.

Without trying to sound over my head, I believe that my partner and I have achieved a 100% of my advertising level in order to get my target audience and possibly even attract more people. More people means more tickets being sold and more DVD’s, which essentially mean making more grossing movies. As a director of a movie it is his job to realise the essential necessity for a movie to be advertise fully which even means by having preview screenings just like “Clash of the Titans” is having. This allows you to have word by mouth which is one of the strongest form of advertisement. However, with my ancillary texts which connect each form of media to one another, achieving a wider scope of advertisement becomes much more achievable as my personal aim when advertising my movie was to make sure that the first thing that comes to people’s mind when they want to watch a movie will be “Divine Intervention”.

  • What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
I needed to make sure that I can achieve my highest potential so it was completly neccessary for me to get feedback so that I may improve. I started getting feedback from my teacher as to seeking her advice on the sountrack I had chosen on the trailer, one of the biggest feedback I had recieved was in fact on my music as I had an acoustic sound on whilst i portraying a rape scene!! clearly that wouldn't work but as I was thinking that I could experiment, I was rightfully put in my place as a collegue said to me "Why do you have a happy tune playing whilst she is getting raped? That just ruins the whole point!!". After this I changed my music and added more than just one soundtrack. After reviewing the trailer again with my partner we realised that in fact it makes the trailer more tense as that is the effect we wanted to acheive. Feedback is vitaly essential to understand how and where we are going wrong and to learn from these mistakes.

Word by mouth is not the only way I got feedback, but through this blog (which is the main reason I had set this blog up was to get your opinion so feel free to comment) I had managed to get feedback from many other people.

Both of these comments showed us what I was doing right and there outlook on to the trailer. This made me confident about how the trailer is laid out and certain aspects of the trailer such as the voice over. Due to feedback we had changed our voice over as originally I used a mans voice to do the voice over, then due to not only personnal preferance but also feedback, I learnt that by using the main actress as a voice over, it gives a better affect towards the trailer.

Other feedback given through the blog in the earlier stages of creating the trailer was added such as ,

"Jacky P said...

I like the trailer very much, but i dont understand why she says that Jack dies and there is only a scene with Stef dying. Other than that the voiceover is very effective anf the pace slowly increasing, i find vwery effective."

By reading this I added in scenes of my male protaganist being un over. I then manged to turn the trailer which looked like as if it was linear editing into a non linear editng because I managed to add in scenes of the trailer.

I'm not sure about other filmakers but I am sure that through feedbackI was inspired more as to what is needed for my trailer. Recieving feedback allowed me to adapt to the thoughts and ideas of what essatially is my audience and as a filmaker, it is my responsibility to provide entertainment that not only I enjoy providing but also entertainment that they enjoy recievig. If a filmaker understands this then he will be able to make the best of films or entertainment product.

  • How did you use Media technologies in the construction, research and planning stages?

During the construction stage it was vital that I had the correct technology otherwise creating my project would have been very hard. Adobe Photoshop had been used regularly as the main project such as the titles for my trailer was created in this software. However my trailer was not the only reason why I used Photoshop, but on the contrary the main reason was in fact to construct my poster and magazine. Due to Photoshop I was able to put my vision of my poster and magazine on paper and create it. Things like adding in texts and colour to the picture, making the whole layout look neater and also add in some text fonts to make it look more interesting. One major thing I was excited to learn on Photoshop was feathering as it taught me how to merge to photos together to make it look like they flow into one another. The effect that this created on the poster was  that it looked more professional and made the poster look better as the two different colours of the photo did not suddenly clash and make the whole poster look awful. Photoshop uses layers which meant that you can delete a certain piece without having it affect the whole of the poster whereas if this was done by hand then on mistake and I would have had to start all over again. All in all I guess what I’m saying is that the software saved a lot of time because of its unique features. In creating my trailer, the software that I used in the course of construction was Adobe Premier Elements.

This software helped my construction of the trailer as it has enabled me to create the filming done by my digital camera more affective, for example I created key frames in order to alternate the voices in between both the speaker and the music so that the audience can hear both but also hear what the speaker is saying. Editing was also made easier rather than the old fashioned cut and paste, I was able to put shots where I wanted to put them I could change their fade in and fade outs. I was able to control and cut very easily how long and how fast I wanted the shots to remain as well. All this is due to the technology I was given which helped me do this project as well as I possibly could.

My research stage was helped by the internet in major ways. Websites such as IMDB had given me views and inspirational ideas on what narrative I should choose and allowed me to observe how they have created their own trailers. Yet the most help I got in research was You Tube. The availability of videos and trailers on this website allowed me to go deeper than mainstream but also to see how other amateur film makers have created trailers. This helped me in my planning and in my research as it gave me the power to analyse but also allowed me to be inspired by their narratives and how certain shots show how they are trying to portray certain things.

In the end of this long evaluation I am going to talk about this blog, as it has been a great help as it has enabled me to keep track of what I am and have done, I have received great feedback on this that helped me to improve my trailer to the fullest but also it has turned me from a media consumer into a media producer because as of now my trailer is online and published. My aim is to hope that my work can reach some big enough to recognise me and my production and this will be all due to the fact that today’s technology has helped me.

Evaluation (Mori)

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forma and conventions of real media products?

I feel as though we are following the conventions of a film trailer very precisely. We looked at many different trailers and researched what made them look professional as well as identifying what all the trailers had in common, ‘what made them a trailer’ so to speak. The most obvious conventions of a trailer that I identified were, they all had shortened film company clips at some point in the trailer generally the beginning, this is to show the film companies that the production is made and distributed by. In our trailer we used a clip for Universal Studios and then we also had our very own clip that I designed for our hypothetical film company called A&M Productions, I thought this started the trailer off professionally.

Another convention of a trailer is the final shot which comes up, it has all the producers names on it, the name of important actors, the directors names, the film companies logos, who the music is by etc. So I used Photoshop to create a similar page for our trailer, I looked at one in an existing trailer and used it to guide me and therefore I managed to make it look realistic, putting all the logos on including our ‘made up’ one. In the trailers that I looked at many of them had shots lasting longer, for example 5 seconds at the beginning and the further into the trailer the faster the editing was as the editing sped up so also did the music, the volume and speed increased and sound effects such as a heart beat or loud thuds like in ‘Transformers, The Revenge Of The Fallen Trailer’

this builds up the tension and the excitement in the trailer. Most trailers then generally ended with one final longer shot with the sound suddenly decreasing in volume or even stopping altogether, this leaves the audience in a sense of awe over the trailer and leaves them also wondering what happens in the film and therefore ensuring that they go and see it in the cinema. This was the exact technique that we used to excite our audience; we started off with slower shots and a voice-over, as well as fairly calm and sad music the trailers editing then speeds up and we increase the speed of the editing and fade in a scary sound effect when we show the rape scene and the death of the boyfriend. Although we follow the typical trailer conventions throughout the trailer this is the one bit where we challenge the conventions of a trailer, we mix up two scenes, one in which a girl is being raped and the other in which a boy is being run over, we used very quick clips but show about three clips of the rape scene and then switch to the car scene for about three very short clips and then back to the rape scene again and so on. I think this is very effective as it gets lots of information into audience’s brains very quickly and therefore gives them a greater idea of what the film is about. This meant that we had something different from other trailers, something which makes it stand out and interest viewers.

2. How effective is the combination of your main prduct and ancillery texts?

I think that the combination of the three different media is good and there is brand recognition between all three of them. The first way in which this is achieved is in using the same font for the title of our film, ‘Divine Intervention’ this puts a picture into audiences minds and therefore when they see the font on the poster they recognise it and remember the trailer and it refreshes their memory. Another thing we did with the title to make it stand out above other film titles is to make the first and last letters on each line capitalised, this can be ssen in the picture above this paragraph. To develop this i looked at many different film titles and how they looked, which fonts they used and what effects they put on them, i firstly wanted to do something like 'Apocolypse Now' as it is unique making the film stand out by the viewers not recognising the text font, but i thought it would be far too difficult to develop my own font as time as well as budgets became issues.

So i then did some more research on titles to looked at some other films and what their titles looked like and i found the 'I Am Legend' which has a far simpler title and still looks very professional and smart.

To make sure that my poster as well as magazines look as though they are working together i looked at 'The Dark Knight' which was on the cover of 'Empire' magazine, so i looked at the poster for the film as well and saw how they were linked together and then compared the two to my magazine cover and poster to see if they both looked as though they were from the same film.

Left: The Dark Knight Poster Right: Divine Intervention Poster (Mine)

Left: Empire Magazine with a cover about The Dark Knight. Right: Red Carpet (My Magazine cover) with cover about Divine Intervention.

Looking at the two pieces on The Dark Knight i can see that the brand reconition is present because they have Heath Ledger the 'Joker' on both covers and that is exactly the same as my poster and magazine cover have, Lucy the main actress is on both of them (as well as in the trailer) thus linking the two together because people always remember faces, especially if they are ‘stars’ and that is exactly what we have done with the poster, magazine and film, audiences will notice the actors/actresses and associate them with the film, ‘Divine Intervention’, like with The Dark Knight above.

3. What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

Feedback has been an essential part of my A2 coursework; throughout the course I have been receiving verbal feedback everyday whether I have been working on my film trailer, the magazine or the poster. Feedback is an essential part of effective learning. It helps students understand the subject being studied and gives them clear guidance on how to improve their learning. According to Bellon et al.1state 'academic feedback is more strongly and consistently related to achievement than any other teaching behaviour...this relationship is consistent regardless of grade, socioeconomic status, race, or school setting.' The feedback has been from my teacher and my fellow media studies students, I think having the feedback from the students is very important because they are part of our target market and therefore their views are almost as important as ours when making decisions as they and people their age are in the end the ones who are going to buy our product. This everyday feedback is very important, it may only be a quick conversation such as, “Mrs. Downes do you think the red looks good on this title?” followed by an answer, this goes on all the time but slowly helps to build up a stronger and stronger piece of media with your ideas that have been slightly adapted to be as strong as possible. Feedback is essential in the process of creating media as it is other people’s views on what your product is like and therefore you can tell if you need to edit or change what you have done and what bits are effective or ineffective. If positive feedback is given on something such as a logo then it means that you can tell you have created an appealing piece of media and therefore you can use this through out your product portfolio knowing it always looks good and will catch potential viewer’s eyes.

As well as receiving verbal feedback we also received feedback through our blog,

we posted our film onto the blog and it meant that through the internet we could receive feedback from anyone, not just the limited amount of people in our class. We posted the first version of the trailer on the blog on Tuesday 9th February and received feedback, “I like the trailer very much, but I don’t understand why she says that Jack dies and there is only a scene with Stef dying. Other than that the voiceover is very effective and the pace slowly increasing, I find very effective.” After reading this comment Aaron and I spoke and decided to add in the scene that we originally planned to have of Jack being run over, this then added more bulk to the trailer and helped it to make sense. The voiceover was approved by ‘Jacky P’ in this comment as well, similar to it had been in the class but we also gained some more verbal feedback that the voiceover should perhaps be in the same voice as the main actress, so we asked Lucy our main actress to do the voiceover for us and we then put it into the final version of the trailer. Since posting the final version of the trailer we have received more feedback from Bronnie and Oscar who said, “I really liked you use of voiceover and music and thought that the shots of Lucy at the beach were really nice.” And Freddie who said, “I thought that the action scenes where Lucy was being raped and jack was getting run over were very effective as the music made it hard hitting. The voiceover is good.. it helped me to understand the movies idea.”. Both of these pieces of feedback were very useful as it meant that I could see that the changes we made to the trailer were effective and worthwhile.

4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

In the construction stage Adobe Photoshop was really useful for me; I used it for the trailer but specifically for the trailer and the poster. For the trailer I made captions on Photoshop enabling me to access many different types of font and put different effects on the words making them look more professional. The part of my coursework that it was best for was when I had to create the final screen of the trailer, one which says all the names of actors, producers, who did the music etc. Photoshop was very useful for this because it uses layers therefore I could make different parts of the final screen and import them back in for example the production company logo that I created, I made it using Photoshop before the final screen and then added it back in. Other effects I learnt from Photoshop was feathering which I used a lot in the making of the poster for my A2 trailer, this tool merges the edges of photos making them flow into each other, this makes the poster look far more professional and means that the different colours do not suddenly meet each other. I also used layers to a great extent when creating my poster and the magazine cover, they are very useful because it means that you can delete or move or edit small bits of the piece easily without affecting the rest of the piece, for example when I was creating the poster, I printed it out and realised that one out of the two pictures that I used in the poster was not good enough quality so I went back onto Photoshop and selected the layer it was on and deleted it and replaced it with a higher quality version, the one which I originally intended to put in. The other useful aspect of layering is that you can bring different parts of the piece to the front very easily, for example if you wrote some font first and then put a picture in you could simply select the layer the writing is on and drag it above the picture layer and it would then be on top of it and visible again.

Left: Screen shot of the editing software (Premiere Elements) in use.

Also in the construction part of my coursework Adobe Premiere Elements was most probably the most important technology that I learnt and used over the course of creating the piece. Premiere Elements is the editing software we used to edit our film trailer. One brilliant aspect of the software that I found really useful is key frames which came in very useful in the making of the trailer, they enabled me to fade the sound in or out very precisely, meaning that the songs didn’t abruptly end when the next one started, the sound flowed with the video and came out very nicely, it also means that you can lower the sound of the music and increase the video audio, which is exactly what I used it for in the trailer. The key frames also allow you to fade the picture in and out to work with the sound and create smooth transitions between two shots. This video shows the use of key frames in my tralier:

I used key frames to lower the music and increase the sound of the voice-over, this meant that the music didn’t stop it was just far quieter enabling the important information to be heard by the audience. Also Premiere elements has a timeline which greatly helped the editing, it means that you can zoom in as much as you like and therefore finely edit the video and sound to your liking, the timeline also means that you can cut the videos and put them in linear order before you actually start to put them into the place you want the individual shots to be in the final trailer.

The internet and more specifically YouTube and IMDb helped me greatly in the research area of the coursework. I used YouTube to help me look at any movie trailers I wanted, this was essential as I needed to analyse them to help me to decide what I wanted in my coursework, what was effective and what wasn’t. IMDb helped me to tell when the films were made and therefore how modern they are as I want to be able to keep up with the modern up-to-date films because as time goes on so does technology and therefore what people are creating and the way they are going about it.

The Blog is the final piece of technology that I want to talk about, the Blog enables me to become a media producer as it goes onto the internet for anyone to see and therefore I can receive feedback from anyone who views it. I posted up what I have been doing, screen shots of the trailer and images of the poster and magazine cover and the trailer that has been made.

The Finished Poster (Mori)

Since I posted the last poster onto the blog i have reviewed what needed to be changed as i thought that there was something wrong with it. After looking at other posters and asking many people for feedback i discovered that having the Title in the middle of the page didn't look good, it drew the eye away fromt the pictures. I also realised that i wasn't following the rule of 2/3rds meaning that the poster was dived in three different equal parts rather than one part taking up 2/3rds of the space and another taking the other 1/3rd, so iu changed this, i made the picture iof the main characters larger and moved the title to the top of the page, i also changed the font of the subtitle sentence as it looked like the title and therefore took away the importance of the title.
The poster has bow been finished and this is what the final one likes like:

Magazine Cover (Mori)

Recently we have been working on the magazine cover. I have found this particular part of the course fairly challenging because it is very difficult to produce a cover which looks professional and realistic. The first problem which I had to overcome was the with the Main Image, I found that the pictures we had of the main character Lucy were all in clothing which was fairly dull and didn’t stand out greatly, so I cropped a picture to use just her neck and head. This, at first did not look good so I had to print it off and receive feedback from members of my class, after half an hour and conversations with many media studies students I realised that I should put her head to one side of the cover and therefore giving me far more room for more text in the form of coverlines. After putting in a Masthead and the main coverline I again encountered issues with the overall look of the magazine. So I decreased the size of the main coverline as it was taking the focus of the masthead, the magazine name, which is the most important part of the magazine, as well as adding smaller coverlines and aligning them left. To create the magazine cover I used the internet a lot looking up many different magazines and what their covers are like and then I could model different parts of my magazine on parts if them that I thought looked effective and drew my eyes to the cover e.g. I used two small captions of characters from our film, ‘Divine Intervention’ and put them into one of the corners with a big plus beside them, this implies that the magazine has something extra than you would usually get, something which no other magazine has and therefore giving the buyer the impression that it is good value for money. I also added in a bar code and a dateline to increase the professionalism of the magazine cover. All in all I am very happy with the magazine cover.
Here is the final one:

New Trailer (Aaron)

Last time we had updated this blog we posted the trailer however after realising and having received feedback on certain aspects such as the music, we upgraded the quality and editing of the trailer. We had also added in some new shots to make the trailer more tense as we added in new music to go with it. By adding this new piece of music, I have managed to get the right emotion more effectivly and have created more room for different types of emotion. I had used happy music with a rape scene which either seemed a bit creepy and wrong or it just did not fit and so i changed the music to that and also added in new shots so that the tralier had more content in it.

Editing the trailer and working on the poster (Mori)

Recently in class we have working towards handing in the first draft of the trailer, this meant that we have been working in lessons and attending clinics to make sure that we got enough to ensure that it would makes sense. While Aaron did some of the editing, i worked on the captions on a seperate computer. I created these on photoshop as they look more professional and they can be changed easily without changing the film in the editing programme. There is also a wider range of fonts on photoshop, therefore we can choose one which goes well with our genre. Also on Photoshop i created the main title for the trailer and our production company logo (A&M Productions). We wanted the main title to be simple as we could not create our won style of font so we decided to have a glow outer glow on it and keep the letters capitals creating a greater imapct. I am very pleased witht the production logo and i think that the time i put into it has been worthwhile as it looks very professional. To make it i created the shape by making a frame and then had to add in the writing, to make the lines come across the words i then had to add an effect onto it giving it the rich purple colour and the scopres through it. I then removed the bottom sectiojn of the frame and added in the words 'production' in an italic font, different to the 'A&M' making it stand out as i production company.
After this we decided to start on the voiceover, we had to move some of the clips around at the beginning in order for the voiceover to fit correctly and not run over the scenes we wanted it to be on otherwise it would clash with sound bridges and therefore sound from another scene. We used a voiceover using a voice recorder and Aaron spoke into it what we had written when we were planning the film.
We have now started work on the poster which is much harder than anticipated, we decided between us after looking at a poster of the recently made film 'Star Trek' that we would have the two main characters at the top of the poster, Lucy and Jack facing each other which we have successfully managed to do. These pictures were taken on the previous Sunday when we set up a black screen and strong lighting to make the pictures look professional, to add to this affect we also borrowed our teachers good camera and therefore managed to take high quality pictures worthy of a poster and a magazine cover. The plan for the rest of the poster is to have their pictures merge down into a wide shot of lucy standing on the cliff edge like the scene in the trailer, with the sea in the background. We than want to have the title of the film 'Divine Intervention'. To develop the name for the film was again something which we had not aticipated to be so difficult, our original idea was to call it 'Fate' but we quickly decided that although it was easy to remember it was also too obvious and doesn't creat much impact on people when they see it. We then started to think of similar words and phrases and eventually came up with 'Divine Intervention', i think that it is a really interesting name as it is challenging the audience to put some thought into what it mauy be about and the meaning of it, i think that it will stick in audiences minds and it sounds classy and realistic.
This is what the poster looks like so far:

Update (Aaron)

Since my last post there has been a lot of progress as Mori and I have managed to hand in our first draft of the trailer so that we may make any modifications. I must say out of all the scenes that we have shot there are two shots in which I am very proud of; the openning shot of lucy with the sea in front of us and the rape scene as we have managed to portray a very gory image of rape without having to cross any boundries such as showing any part of the body.
